The award is made annually for a building, project or product that showcases outstanding and innovative acoustic design. Christian Lindberg, the acclaimed musician, composer, conductor and leader of the Arctic Symphony Orchestra has compared the acoustics of the hall to Carnegie Hall and the Vienna Musikverien.
This 51st annual competition recognizes engineering achievements that exhibit the highest degree of merit and ingenuity.
This project was supported in part by a grant from the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Energy Resources, through the Conservation Applied Research and Development program.
Plug load energy—from computers to copiers to water coolers—represents a relatively untapped energy savings resource in commercial buildings.
In contrast to other end uses including HVAC and lighting, plug load energy use is increasing nationwide. To achieve performance goals and optimize energy efficiency, building owners, operators, and their architects and engineers must better understand plug loads.
Seventhwave, with LHB and CEE, conducted a field research study to demonstrate and measure savings from potential plug load reduction strategies in office buildings. The team characterized the types of devices and baseline usage in those offices, and documented occupant acceptance, operational issues and cost-effectiveness.
LHB led the dissemination of results, providing guidance to building owners and design teams on effective implementation of plug load reduction strategies. The final report can be found at: LHB offers a full spectrum of sustainable architecture, engineering, planning, and consulting services.

The acre Sports Center campus opened in Blaine in Today, it includes 54 grass athletic fields, an eight-rink ice arena, a stadium, two different facilities to provide multiple options for expos, a 58,square-foot indoor facility with FieldTurf, an hole golf course dedicated to teaching youth the game, a wooden Velodrome track and a bed residence hall.
It is obvious to anybody driving by the National Sports Center campus that a lot of changes are going on. The NSC hired LHB, an agency that provides engineering, architecture and planning services, to assist with the master plan update.
Barclay Kruse, NSC spokesperson, cautioned that the master plan will never be an inflexible document. He saw the process as a community outreach to see what others would like to see. For example, Kruse said representatives for separate groups that are interested in constructing two separate or a combined facility for pools and gymnasiums approached the NSC after the community center and senior center question failed in the November election.
It would be a guessing game to state when work will begin.More about Adoption and Implementation of BIM by Small and Medium Enterprises The Relevance of Information Technology in Managing Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Words | 11 Pages.
Learn about our Engineering & Information Technology Degree Program available at Conestoga College, Ontario's leading community college. But implementing BIM technology remains a challenging exercise.
This proposal centres upon three main essential points. Business approach and strategy Before starting any implementation, it is critical that the management body takes some time to devise the strategy that will lead the BIM rollout.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is commonly defined as the creation of a model to support the exchange of various types of information to multiple users involved in the design, delivery, and operation of a building through a data rich, object-oriented, intelligent and.
Mathias Cormann was born in the German-speaking part of Belgium and decided to migrate to Australia permanently, after first visiting Perth in , attracted by the great lifestyle and opportunities on offer in Western Australia. The term of Building Information Modelling (BIM) has become ubiquitous in construction industry of China.
The purpose of this study is to investigate implementation of BIM in construction industry in China, including the BIM strategy, the BIM standards, and the projects that utilized BIM and so on.
